American Warfare by Lori Jenessa Nelson

From Writing Exercise 1 This is not television. This elephant awareness of all that is tragic and insecure in the world. Finger nail polish cannot hide these scars, so let this robe cover the silver bullets of your suicide. We’re putting down dogs and Dalmatians, for, these people are not like us; they are savages. They keep freedom in an air-tight jar and she suffocates. The cherry blossom always longs to bloom. We fight for the fountain of youth, but do not taste its waters. We live for eternity when the vacuum of the battlefield sucks us in to war. This is war. We fight for freedom, die with none, but here, warm yourself with electricity. Be knighted by death.
